BU Student Accommodation – Dorchester House


(music)>>Dorchester House, built in 2012, is located
at the Lansdowne Campus and is close to the train station, as well as the town centre.
This modern, purpose built student accommodation contains 540 bedrooms, a common room, launderette
and bike storage – it also offers a shared outdoor space. The majority of rooms are typically
clustered in to flats of five, six or seven bedrooms although some smaller clusters are
available. These flats offer a fully-fitted shared kitchens and bedrooms with double beds,
desks, shelves, en-suite facilities, internet and IPTV. The flats will be shared by a mix
of male and female students, often of various nationalities. For your support there is a
resident welfare officer, CCTV, electronic access control using a key card, and on-site
maintenance. There is also 68 studio flats available for all. These are especially ideal
for mature and postgraduate students. These contain double beds, en-suite facilities,
a kitchen, internet and IPTV. As well as being close to Bournemouth train station, it is
within walking distance to university facilities including the School of Health & Social Care
and the Executive Business Centre for postgraduate Business School students, and the Students
Union’s events venue. The university bus stop to the Talbot Campus is nearby and the
journey takes about 15 minutes. It is also close to Bournemouth Town Centre, the beach,
shops, bars, restaurants and a large supermarket. It’s also located in close proximity to
some of our other Halls of Residence such as Lyme Regis House, Purbeck House and Chesil
House. Students can lease rooms at Dorchester House for a minimum period of 42 weeks up
to a period of 50 weeks. A 50 week contract applies to the studios. You can apply for
Dorchester House from the moment you have met all of the conditions of our offer and
accepted your place – in other words, when your application status is unconditional firm.
